District 10

Bayview-Hunters Point

People say that this community is full of problems; I say it's full of solutions.  This is where many of our children are being raised, and where we need to make sure new employment opportunities, and a better Third Street commercial strip, emerges.

Dogpatch

I've been working out of the American Industrial Center, in Dogpatch, for more than five years.  What was a sleepy, industrial age neighborhood is steadily being transformed, with Esprit Park, multiple excellent restaurants, and Pier 70 waiting to be redeveloped.

Little Hollywood

This tidy neighborhood has a great park and lovely, well cared for, homes.

Portola

I like to say that "Portola" is two letters away from "Potrero," where I live.  Portola is an amazing community, with access to McLaren Park and San Bruno Avenue, which is struggling to be reborn as a destination for the various demographic groups that live in the neighborhood.

Potrero Hill

I've lived or worked on the Hill for more than a decade.  We brought my nine-year old daughter home to Kansas Street, and she's grown up playing at McKinley Square and Jackson Park, eating at Goat Hill Pizza, and marching in Farley's Pet Parade.

Visitacion Valley

With a new library being built, Schlage Lock being redeveloped, and efforts to rennovate Leland Avenue, Vis Valley is steadily improving.  Attention now needs to be paid to securing ample financing to redevelop the Sunnydale housing project, which should have been replaced years ago, and making sure our streets and public transportation are safe.
